I have been unable to post to the list for a long time, and Knoxbill pointed out that this hotmail was no longer sending plain text. Sure enough, now you have to select "Show plain text" which one might think would have been marked "Compose in plain text" but hey it's MSN knowing what's best again.

So, this east and west busines. I had a few boneless skinless chicken thighs and some leftover white rice. Rummaging around in the fridge, I found soma adjika type "Chilly Sauce" from Georgia (not the USA Georgia) and some vietnamese chili paste with garlic.

So I combined the sauces. The result was a low-to-moderate heat level with elements of garlic and onion, but not committed to typical asian flavors like soy and ginger. It could have gone that way, or it could have gone toward a peppery pilaf with apricots and nuts. As it is I put in some onion, a few frozen peas, and some whole Turkish garlic cloves in peppered oil.

I think I want to try a sauce like that on chicken kabobs.
