Delurking for the moment...
I've been doing the same lately, but for another reason. While many of the messages on list contain valuable information, far too many recently are of the "me too!/Thank-you" variety and are a waste of bandwidth. Also, IMHO, there's a lot of traffic on this list that would better be "back channel", that is to say, that the posts should be via private email between the parties involved.
Just my two cents worth...
