Re: straight into anaphylaxis or, if I eat more than a few bites, full-blown
anaphylactic shock...*VERY* bad juju.

Depends on how you make your living ;-) :-P Fortunately, anaphylaxis is
easily treatable *IF* gotten at early. It's one of the "big three" problems
that we go on that truly impresses the public, that we seem to have the
power to raise the dead. The other two are D50 (dextrose, 50%) for
diabetics with their sugar too low, and Narcan for opiate overdoses. All
three are "routine" runs for us and take folks from near 'outta here'
status to walking/talking in a matter of minutes. The power of sugar
water (D50) is truly impressive for such an amazingly simple thing. I still
shake my head in awe at it. I trust you have a medical ID bracelet that
has your info on it. We *do* look for those things. I appreciate your
openess on the matter- may it serve as inspiration for other folks to
make sure people around them know of any potential problems!

I also enjoyed the discussions with you Jim, on the "overkill". I certainly
didn't mean to appear like I was arguing it- you are *entirely* correct: no
one is *ever* wrong for 'overkill'! It's just an intimidating step that
dissuades many a home sauce maker from attempts at their own stuff
and is usually not necessary.

Re: Next it'll be onions, after that it'll be cilantro...

No Jonathan, the greater fear is that next it will be yet *another* massive
round of Federal regulations and beaurocratic nonsense designed to
attack a problem for which they haven't as yet identified :-( The Gov is
already near over-regulating most of us out of existence. Hope y'all like
Tabasco ;-)
