Basically, I was saying that, while I think the link was intended as a joke (as was the site it linked to), my experiences with chiles and hot sauces while working on losing weight are that they do make a positive difference....not because of the absurd "punishment for eating" theme that the article takes, but instead for at least the following reasons that I've noted: 1) After eating a nice, fiery meal (e.g., a favorite of mine, Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice chicken enchiladas w/ rice ... and plenty of a GOOD habanero sauce...like the one I just made last week!), I feel full and satisfied for a good while longer than I might otherwise, and on smaller amounts. 2) One everyone knows---flavor. A lot of people swear that food can't have flavor without fat. We chile-heads know better! :-) 3) other health bonuses that we've all read about Oh well, my coffee's gone cold...must nuke it now.
