Mr. Greaves The powder arrived today. The aroma is awesome. I have a couple of cookin' projects planned with the powder in mind. I am betting it will do a killer job of enhancing the flavor of my Pozole on Puerco. I am glad you included some notes on the bag, because it reminded me of something I've been meaning to share with the group... Wild Chiltepins are easier to grow than you might suspect. Emulate their natural space. Start them in the shade of another plant. In Texas and New Mexico where there are wild stands of them they almost always start of under a "nurse" tree - usually a mesquite. Once it is up to the second or third set of compound (adult) leaves you can transplant it to a more open space if you want to. In the interim, Craig Dremann at Redwood City Seed company sells tepin flakes for reasonable prices. In fact, he has a very good selection of Chile Seeds and his prices are as good as anyone in the business. I will be making some of my seeds available. I can send out Pearl seeds from last year, now. Just drop me an email with your mailing address... or drop it to the list. If you want to send me some seeds in return, that's great, but I'm not going to hold back because you don't have something to trade. I'm looking for some harder to find Korean, Laotian and true Amazonian Aji. I'll ask for another show of hands as I make other seeds available later. I know some already asked for Yellow Fire and Wong strain of Prik Chi Faa. Right now, you can expect about twenty seeds with a high rate of germination. gary Gary Smith.............The Lovely Janet.....gars@speakeasy.org 5186 CR-5..............Heirloom Veggies.....gars@speakeasy.net Ashland, AL 36251, U.S.A....& Herbs....gars@thelovelyjanet.com
