   wow! 5 pounds of beans huh!
i know you asked for salsa but i thought you might be interested
in these dishes, so ...
you didn't specify whether fresh or dried beans, but anyway one
of my fave black bean dishes is Sopa Negra.
it's Costa Rican black bean soup; it's fairly watery by most
standards & frequently served con huevos (with an egg or two
poached in each individual soup serving, don't stir).
easy to hot-up ... just serve with some of the local Costa Rican
"Lizano tabasco" sauce; it's on every restaurant table.
   Gallo Pinto, is my preferred breakfast dish when in CR, kind of
a rice & black bean stir-fry. very satisfying with a cafe leche!
   both dishes vary somewhat, according to the whim of the
chef, so feel free to improvise. (most CR dishes aren't heavily
seasoned, but there really is hot sauce on every table!)
