I've been told that responding to one of those "remove my name" offers is
counterproductive --- it just lets them know that their spam reached a live
address, which they weren't sure of otherwise. Just delete it and forget
it. I'm only getting a small handful of spam each week. The gourdpatch
list is working OK --- could you be unsubscribed or something?
