Jim, I just read your comments. If people living in Texas do not
know the meaning of the words "cumin" or "comino", then said people
were not born here. Anyway, the recipe has to be "proper" for use by
the Dallas News. I sent my entry in yesterday. The deadline is
September 1, and I am very curious to know how many people are
entering the contest and what the 10 finalist drinks will be. Then
they are going to narrow it down to 3 winners. The Grand Prize
winner's drink will be sold at some horse-racing event in October. I
don't understand why this is so "important" to the powers-that-be in
Dallas, but ... why not?
Since the drink is essentially a cross between a Martini and a
Margarita, that is why I named it Textini. As for Texan-haters
elsewhere (as in Oklahoma), y'all could call it the Chilitini or
Okitini.
I'll let everybody know if I win or not and who the finalists are.
Bon Weekend! Rob
