Oh, man, Boss, you be a slippin'.   The things in the jars are 
probably those little unripe tabascos like you say, but there'a 
another little yellow sucker.  It's the little yellow 
ornamental,maybe an inch long and thick at the top  with rounded and 
often double lobes.  You can get them in a planter at May's 
Greenhouse here in Bloomington.  They're labeled "Yellow Ornamental 
Peppers."   Good heat, not much taste.
