Well, I do recall that she had some very big personal problems, one of
which was job and money, prior to her leaving. She had been forced to
move into different housing, because of financial problems. Lots of
folks run into difficulties in this life at various times. There are
several ways to overcome them, if one is knocked down either get up and
fight again, or lie there and let the world run over you. The choice is
the individuals. Life, as the old saying goes, is NOT always a bowl of
cherries, sometimes it can be just the pits, and in Green's case, her
life had not been an easy one. She hated her father, for whatever
reason, and when he died, and she was the next of kin, she was obligated
to bury him. Which she could not afford. She became very depressed, and
because I have broad shoulders, she felt that she could unload her
frustrations on me. Which she did, and I commiserated with her as best I
could. She and I had some great on line conversations about grits, which
I happen to love, even though we cannot get grits in Canada, and I stock
up every time we visit Washington State. She was always going to send me
some REAL grits. Never happened, and she left the list and either
dropped internet, or could not afford access, whatever. Her email addie
started to bounce as soon as she dropped out of sight.
Perhaps she is no longer with us, seem to recall some health problems
other than mental. People do decide to pull the plug on their lives,
which we know from sad experience, having had it occur with our eldest
son. As well as other friends also. Depression is a very bad, but
treatable disease. But the person with it, must want to be helped.
Cheers, Doug
