Of course. Your Cc: messages had no delay beyond your mail-server
realizing it just had to rotate them in place and immediately plop them
down in your inbox. The chile-heads messages had to travel across the
wire, get processed by the server (append to digest, figure out what list
it is then who all to send it to...), then come back down the wire to your
inbox.
