Hey Ted,

JohnF (fiedlermeister) is a vegan and a very good cook.  We both know how 
talented he is with anything peppers related.  I think chicken stock is 
acceptable to vegans.  We've traded a lot of recipes (and cookbooks) over 
the last few years and I'll bet he would be glad to give you some ideas.

That is a great looking recipe!  I'm already trying to figure out how to 
make into a burrito.  <G>  I have an ancient crockpot that haven't used for 
years.

 I will make some adjustments and try this out. I'm looking for a vegan 
pepper soup recipe. I was thinking smoked poblanos would be good.
 A few years back, I decided to start doing some type of vegetarian fare for 
Open Fields. Will try to go vegan this year. Since a lot of foods are so 
heavy, I like to go for vegetable stews or soups. A vegan pepper soup would 
be awesome if I could find a good recipe. I'll experiment with this a bit.
